Continental Viking Contact 7
Here’s a name that’s new to the product line at German manufacturer Continental. In fact this tire is a response by the manufacturer to several competitors in the stud-less winter tire segment, which consists of tires designed to perform on a par with studded tires, but without the need for studs. It uses the company’s PolarPlus technology, which uses a softer rubber for cold-temperature driving, and it’s really a new and improved version of the Continental Contact SI.
The tire features a unique, easy-to-spot tread design that, the company promises, ensures a quieter ride than other Continental tires. While the tire is too new for us to have tested it, that Continental is confident enough to place it in the same class as the Blizzak WS90 and Nokian R3 is reassuring.
