Bridgestone Blizzak WS90
Here is one of this season’s all-new products, the WS90 version of Japanese manufacturer Bridgestone’s renowned Blizzak winter tire. As a follow-up to its excellent WS80 winter tire, Bridgestone first introduced the WS90 to journalists in the tire domain last winter; this autumn it is being made available to Canadian consumers.
Among the WS90’s new features, the manufacturer points to the revised design with blocks and strips (those small grooves that disperse water and interlock when in motion to firm up the tread surface).
We aim to try this tire out as soon as possible, but we can already venture a recommendation given that it’s a follow-up to the popular WS80.
The WS90, which is a directional tire, will be offered in more different sizes than the WS80, and be usable on 15- to 19-inch wheels (the latter was out of reach for the WS80).
No surprise, this is a higher-end product that will cost consumers a little more than regular winter tires.
Those in the market for a good “run flat” performance tire for the winter season can look into the specialized LM-60 RFT tire.
