We breathlessly await the arrival of the very first Toyota-badged all-electric vehicle (we’ll set aside the first two generations of the RAV4 EV, which were distributed in very small quantities), being developed in collaboration with Subaru.

In the meantime, the original master of hybridization continue on its path with a Prius (with two- or four-wheel drive). Last year's addition of the Corolla Hybrid shows just how committed Toyota is to this technology... for now at least! The Camry Hybrid is also worth considering, especially since its redesign; the car delivers simply exemplary driving dynamics.

Now there's the RAV4 Hybrid, the popularity of which is such that consumers are being forced to be patient, and then patient some more: waiting lists for that version are getting longer and longer. Will the arrival of the RAV4 Prime (Plug-in Hybrid) change things later in 2020? We'll see.

As for the Highlander Hybrid, it gets a complete makeover this year. The big three-row crossover can consume as little as 6.7L/100 km in combined mode, a feat that very few large SUVs are capable of achieving, especially with an exclusively hybrid powertrain.
