Wouldn't it be nice if something like France's LadyGo came to Canada? This carpooling service allows women to travel with other women only not just for safety purposes but also to ''make new friends, save money, and have a girly chat on the go!''

The attractive website explains how carpooling works and points out some of the basic do's and don'ts, like asking questions about the trip and cost, validating the driver's contact info, and avoiding pick-ups at unknown or unsecured locations. Users can later rate the carpooling service and chat among them.

A quick search on the web reveals that there is no such thing in Canada, although some people put ads in newspapers and classifieds websites looking specifically for male or female carpoolers. You can bet that a similar service as LadyGo would enjoy tremendous success over here.
